Brent Musburger is moving on from the Las Vegas Raiders after 4 seasons as the radio play-by-play voice.

The legendary broadcaster shared the news on social media, and thanked the organization as well as broadcast partner Lincoln Kennedy. He joked that he might be the new commissioner of Mike Trout’s fantasy football league.

Musberger became a legendary voice on television broadcasting in the 1970s for CBS, and more recently with ABC and ESPN, calling college football games with partner Kirk Herbstreit. His last call came in January 2017 for a Kentucky-Georgia basketball game. Musburger broadcasted for CBS from 1973 to 1990, then moved to ABC and ESPN from 1990 to 2017.

Since he left the world of sports, Musburger has been busy in Las Vegas with the Vegas Stats and Information Network where he is an on-air personality.

Musburger is arguably most remembered for his college football call during Alabama’s 42-14 win over Notre Dame in the 2013 National Championship game. That when ESPN’s cameras were put on AJ McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, who was sitting with McCarron’s family.

Musburger called the former Miss Alabama USA a “lovely lady” and “beautiful.” He also said to his broadcast partner, Herbstreit, who is a former quarterback, “you quarterbacks get all the good-looking women.”

Musburger then said, “if you’re a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with Pop.”
