Paris Community Theatre Present “Marvelous Wonderettes”

Paris Police Report 08.10
Paris Police spoke with the victim of a theft of a vehicle at 10:48 A.M. on August 9, 2022. The victim reported that they had sold a 2022 Honda Accord on the internet on July 20, 2022 and delivered the vehicle to an address in Corsicana, Texas. Since that sale, the victim has learned that the person that bought the vehicle had used stolen identity information to make the purchase. The vehicle was valued at over $41,000. The incident is under investigation.

Paris City Council Calls City Charter Election
The Paris City Council has called for a city charter amendment election for November 8. There are 24, mostly cosmetic proposed amendments recommended by a 16-member Charter Review Commission. The election will coincide with the General Election. The council also approved a $12.3 million pension bond. This would bring firefighters under the same pension plan as other city employees.

Savoy Firefighters Discover Body Of Missing Person
Firefighters found human skeletal remains after battling a fire on FM 1752 near Savoy in Fannin County. Authorities believe the remains are those of Jesse Hagood, who was reported missing in August of 2021. After his wrecked vehicle was found in Fannin County, Savoy police began a search. More than a year went by with no sign of Hagood.

Lamar County Burn Ban Extended
Because of the continuing danger of wildfires, the Lamar County Commissioners Court voted Monday to extend the current ban on outdoor burning through September 12. The court made the decision based on consultation with the Lamar County Department of Emergency Management, and the Lamar County Volunteer Fire Departments.

Hopkins County Jail
Hopkins County deputies responded to a disturbance in the Dike area and determined that 46-year-old Kenneth George Andrews had been in an argument and fired multiple shots at his son. The son ran to his grandfather’s home to seek safety and Andrews chased him there, continuing to fire. Deputies recovered 15 spend shell casings, a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and Andrews was arrested on multiple charges. There were no injuries.

Titus County Jail Bookings
Fifty-year-old Carmen D. Hodgson of Bogota, was arrested on 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. No other information was available. Twenty-seven-year-old Kiana S. Brooks of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on 2 Dallas County warrants for Aggravated Robbery and Robbery. Brooks was also charged on traffic and misdemeanor warrants.

Child Injured In Wood County School Bus Crash
A Hawkins ISD elementary school student was injured when a school bus crashed on Hwy 14 in front of the school. The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ten students were on bus at the time. They were returned to the campus for parents to pick them up. A post on social media said a tower was knocked down knocking out phone lines at the school.

Mt Pleasant Man Jailed For Alleged Coin Machine Thefts
Twenty-six-year-old Hector Hernandez of Mt Pleasant was arrested on three counts of burglary coin operated machines. NO bond amount was set and he remains in the Titus County jail. He has a history of burglaries of coin operated machines, dating back to 2019.
