Dr. Felecia McInnis Nave, President of Alcorn State University, became the first inductee into the Jefferson Davis County School District Hall of Fame.

Nave was presented the award by JDC Superintendent Ike Haynes during JDCHS 2022 graduation May 20.

“This is a tremendous honor to have her accept the speaking engagement to come home and speak to the graduates of the Class of 2022,” said JDC Superintendent Ike Haynes. Nave is the daughter of Linda McInnis Clark of Prentiss and graduated from Prentiss High School in 1992. “She is one of the most highly decorated, nationally known educators from the Jefferson Davis County school system and never forgot her roots.”

She served as the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at North Carolina Central University and Prairie View A&M University before becoming the first female president of Alcorn State.

Nave is married to Tracie Nave and they are the proud parents of four children, Jaylon, Justin, Kennedy and Johnathan. “She is one of the most highly decorated, nationally known educators from the Jefferson Davis County school system and never forgot her roots.”

“She set the bar high, but we have hundreds of people from across the country from our school district that we will be recognizing in years to come. Those great in all fields of human endeavor just might find themselves in the JDC Alumni Hall of Fame.”
