The Helena-West Helena Police Department is still searching for one of three suspects accused of a burglary that ended in $30,000 of property and a 2018 Toyota Highlander being stolen.
According to authorities, on May 26, police responded to a break-in at 926 N. 4th St.
When officers arrived, they spoke with homeowner Keith Edwards who stated his residence was burglarized while he was out of town.
On May 29, the Helena-West Helena Police Department, assisted by the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, made contact with Jason Hicks who was in possession of the stolen Toyota Highlander. Investigators also determined Timothy Trell Nichols and Peggy Barnes were also involved in the burglary.
Officials said Jason Hicks and Timothy Trell Nichols were both arrested and charged with residential burglary, theft of property, and theft of a motor vehicle. Their bond hearings were held on May 31 where their bonds were set at $15,000 each.
Both Hicks and Nichols were being held at Phillips County Detention Center until their first appearance in circuit court on June 20, according to police.
