CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The National Weather Service (NWS) reported the damage from Friday morning’s storms was the result of a tornado.

A survey team found that the damage was caused by an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of 90 to 95 mph on May 27. They say the tornado was reported on the ground for 0.06 miles in the Charlotte County area along the western end of Green View Road.

The tornado snapped or uprooted several trees, powerlines were downed, and a person’s home was damaged. According to the report, it damaged 20% of the roof and a bedroom on the east side of the home. There was also a report of broken glass doors and windows.
