Eggy has shared pro-shot footage of the band’s performance of Jerry Garcia Band classic “Cats Under The Stars” at Summer Camp Music Festival 2022. The live video both highlights the energy of the group’s Summer Camp set and heralds an upcoming Jerry Garcia Band tribute show at Port Chester, NY’s Garcia’s on Thursday, June 2nd [get tickets].
The performance of “Cats Under The Stars”, a first for Eggy, came amid a busy weekend for the outfit. After releasing two new singles as the Nashville Tapes last Friday, the New Haven, CT quartet headed to Chillicothe, IL for the Summer Camp set on Saturday. From there, Eggy traveled on to Minnesota for a Sunday set at Revival Music Festival.
Now, Dani Battat (keys/vocals), Jake Brownstein (guitar/vocals), Mike Goodman (bass/vocals), and Alex Bailey (drums/vocals) have their sights set on Port Chester, NY, where they will mount a two-set show at Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre this Thursday, June 2nd featuring one set of Eggy originals and one set of Garcia favorites.
Back in mid-2020, when Eggy’s “tour” schedule consisted solely of live-streamed shows from the Egg Crate, the band linked up with Garcia’s to offer fans around the country a special “Eggy Plays Dead” stream. With the band back on the road, Thursday’s show will bring that concept to life more than two years later. Per keyboardist/vocalist Dani Battat, fans can expect Eggy to both revisit some of the JGB staples they have explored in the past and pull some new tunes out of the Garcia songbook. Other upcoming highlights of Eggy’s 2022 tour schedule include a run of shows in the southeast in mid-June, spots at The Peach Music Festival (6/3) and The Werk Out Music & Arts Festival (7/14), and more.
