Taking a look at tonight’s slate of baseball games, we have a lot of different routes we can take in terms of MLB player props, plays, or daily fantasy baseball lineups. When it comes to the MLB pitchers tonight, we don’t have many elite arms and there are not a lot of spots on Underdog Fantasy that favor the over/under on a pitcher's strikeouts or recorded outs. However, Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Jeffrey Springs has MLB strikeout props to target against the Texas Rangers. At the other end of the spectrum, a few MLB top hitters in Ty France and José Abreu stand out like sore thumbs in their favorable matchups on Wednesday, June 1st. Both players might also be popular daily fantasy baseball plays as well. For updates for any games potentially impacted by the latest MLB weather report, be sure to keep tabs on our MLB Weather Center to find out more as we approach roster lock. Another great tool to use is our MLB Lineups page to find out who's in and who's out of MLB starting lineups. Our MLB DFS Player Projections, powered by FanJections, are set for today's slate and give you a good idea of who’s going to have a big day for MLB daily fantasy lineups as well. Let’s dive into our favorite Underdog Fantasy MLB player prop plays of the day!

MLB Player Prop Plays Underdog Fantasy

Jeffrey Springs UNDER 5.0 strikeouts

This is not the best spot for Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Jeffery Springs, considering the matchup on his hands. Yes, I understand he’s hit the over in two consecutive starts but they came against the Yankees and Orioles. The Orioles have the second-highest K-rate in the league against lefties while the Yankees are 10th and have been playing without multiple everyday starters in Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson.

Here’s the difference with the Rangers – they don’t strike out all that much against left-handers. Texas has struck out just 19.8% of the time against southpaws, which is the eighth-lowest mark in the league this season. On top of that, Texas ranks in the top-10 in OPS and ISO and is 11th in wOBA against lefties.

Springs doesn’t necessarily go deep into games either, considering the most pitches he’s thrown this year is 80. If Texas continues to be pesky and foul off or take tough pitches, they could drive his pitch count up to where he can’t obtain this number.

Ty France OVER 1.5 total bases

There’s really nothing Ty France can do wrong right now. Over his last 10 games, France is slashing .447/.523/.632 with four doubles and one home run. Over the entire month of May, he hit .355 with a .900 OPS – which comes after a .337 AVG and .965 OPS in March/April.

This is such a fantastic match-up for France and I cannot WAIT to play him in Underdog and in all of my DFS lineups as well. On the year, France is batting .356 with a .935 OPS and .411 wOBA versus right-handed pitching. Against right-handed batters, Orioles' starter Kyle Bradish has allowed a .361 AVG, 1.180 OPS, and a .495 wOBA.

As the kids say…”SHEEEEEEEEEEE!" Looks like another multi-hit day is in the cards for France.

José Abreu OVER 6.5 fantasy points

This is quite an interesting matchup as Hyun-Jin Ryu has been pretty good since returning from injury, but he has been far from dominant. The Blue Jays starter allowed six hits in back-to-back starts and isn’t missing many bats, as he’s struck out three or fewer opponents in all three starts he’s made since his return.

On the other end of the spectrum, Abreu is rollin’ right about now batting .361 over his last 10 games with a .489 OBP and .639 SLG%. He’s really firing on all cylinders. Abreu is 2-for-5 with a home run off of Ryu in their respective careers and the White Sox slugger has a lonnnng history of crushing left-handed pitching. On the year, Abreu is batting .310 with a .377 wOBA against southpaws. For his career, one that spans nine seasons, he’s batting .307 with a .930 OPS against lefties.
