Box office success as well as very, very positive reviews seem to be the name of the game for "Top Gun: Maverick," the sequel to the 1986 iconic film, "Top Gun." While the film features old, familiar faces, particularly Tom Cruise's Maverick and Val Kilmer's Iceman, much of the cast of the film are new.
One of them is Glen Powell, who plays Jake "Hangman" Seresin. Why he is called Hangman, well, you will have to watch the film to find out for yourself.
In what seems to be in honor of the character he plays in the "Top Gun" sequel, Powell shared a Spotify playlist he created in his Instagram Stories. The playlist, titled "Hangman's Direct Hits," has 11 songs as of press time, as well as 919 likes.

'Danger Zone' by Kenny Loggins
No playlist inspired by "Top Gun" will ever be complete without Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" and it seems to be something that Glen Powell understands very well as the song does feature in his Spotify playlist.
Released in 1986, many may not know that Kenny Loggins was not the first choice to sing this song. It was supposed to be performed by Toto, but things went south between the movie's producers and the band's lawyers.
'Hold My Hand' by Lady Gaga
The inclusion of this Lady Gaga song in the actor's playlist may not surprise anyone who has seen "Top Gun: Maverick." This is because the song is part of the movie's soundtrack and is actually considered the lead single. It is also one of the two original songs that can be found in the soundtrack.
Lady Gaga is credited in the opening as well as closing credits of the film as one of the movie who have come up with the music for it.

'I Ain't Worried' by OneRepublic
The second of the two original songs in the "Top Gun: Maverick" soundtrack, OneRepublic's "I Ain't Worried" has also made it to Powell's "Hangman's Direct Hits" playlist.
An article by NME describes the song as "a pop-fueled, upbeat number, driven by cheery whistling and buoyant percussion."
'Man to Make Me Sweat' by Leslie Powell
Well, the surname may have already give this away but yes, Leslie Powell is the actor's sister.
According to Leslie Powell's Spotify artist page. the song "Man to Make Me Sweat" was released just this year. Her other songs that you can find on her artist page include "When the Magic Fades," "Happy Place," "Not You," and "Six Feet Under."
