‘90 Miles on 90’ Yard & Antique Sales
“90 Miles on 90” featuring more than 90 miles of yard and antique sales will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4 along Highway 90 and throughout participating towns, which include Sealy, Columbus, Glidden, Weimar, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Waelder, Harwood, Luling, Geronimo, Seguin and McQueeney.

Sacred Heart Parish-Flatonia Spring Picnic
Sacred Heart Parish in Flatonia will hold its spring picnic on Sunday, June 5 starting with Mass at 10 a.m. A fried chicken/stew dinner will be served starting at 11 am. (dine-in, drive-thru or walk-up) for $12 per plate.
An auction will start at 1 p.m. and bingo at noon. Krazy Kirb DJ will provide music. There will also be a horseshoe tournament, country store, cake/plant walks, silent auction, children’s games, dirt mountain and hamburgers.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Champion Valley Taste of the Towns
Boys & Girls Clubs of Champion Valley will host Taste of the Towns featuring the Shorthorns vs. Wildcats on Sunday, June 5 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Wolters Park pavilion. Chef teams from Schulenburg and Weimar will compete for best appetizer, best dessert and best in show. Tickets will be $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. St. Rose of Lima Parish Picnic
St. Rose of Lima Parish will hold its picnic on Sunday, June 12 at the KC Hall. Fried chicken/sausage plates with potatoes, sauerkraut and green beans will be $12 each, with bake sale items available. Drive-thru will start at 10:30 a.m. and dine-in (dessert & tea included) at 11 a.m.
A live auction will start at 12:30 p.m. An online auction will have bidding that ends on Friday, June 17 (http://charityauction.bid/strosechurch).
Music will be by the Czechaholics outdoors from noon to 4 p.m. and Mark Halata & Texavia inside from 4 to 8 p.m. A biergarten will open at noon. Hamburers, tamales and fruit will be served after 3 p.m. There will also be a cake walk, country store, bingo (in the Family Life Center) and lots of activities for kids including a bounce house, duck pond, plinko, Nerf game, bean bag toss, face-painting, mini golf, basket toss & ring toss.
Weimar Knights of Columbus Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar KC Council 2153 will serve a chicken fried steak dinner (includes sides) on Sunday, June 26 from 10:30 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center, North Center Street, Weimar.
Cost is $12 each for the drive-thru-only plates.
Date for Schulenburg Festival Pageant set
The Schulenburg Festival Pageant has been set for Saturday, July 16 in High Hill at 6:30 p.m. Rehearsal details will soon follow. and rules will be printed in the near future.
