Ant Anstead celebrated Memorial Day Weekend with his 2-year-old son Hudson amid his custody battle with ex-wife Christina Haack.
“A holiday weekend isn’t complete without some DIY at home!” the “Wheeler Dealers” host, 43, captioned a Saturday Instagram photo of himself and the toddler holding hands in the home improvement store.
“Hudzo is obsessed with tools, skills and craft!” Anstead continued. “He has so many questions and he soaks it all up like a sponge!”
Anstead went on to write that he and Hudson “made some cool alterations to Temple,” which is how the reality star refers to his Laguna Beach, Calif., home.
“We did it from scratch ourselves,” the car builder gushed. “My little apprentice x.”
Haack, 38, appeared to wrap up the weekend with Hudson, sharing a sweet shot cuddling him on Monday night.
“One week from today we move into our new home,” the “Christina on the Coast” star captioned the Instagram Story selfie.
Haack and Anstead welcomed their son in September 2019, one year before their split.
The “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” star is also the father of Amelie, 18, and Archie, 15, whom he shares with ex-wife Louise Anstead. Meanwhile, the “Flip or Flop” alum shares Taylor, 11, and Brayden, 6, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa.
Although the exes agreed to joint legal and physical custody of Hudson when they finalized their divorce in June 2021, Anstead filed an emergency motion for full custody last month.
Anstead criticized Haack’s parenting in the April filing, citing “illegal drug use” and accusing the “Flip Your Life” author of putting their little one at medical risk.
Haack denied his allegations in a statement at the time, writing that she was “deeply saddened” by his actions.
“I have had my share of ups and downs but I am a good mom,” she wrote. “I love my children with all my heart and I will always protect them.”
Anstead’s motion was subsequently denied, with a hearing scheduled for June.
He wrote in an Instagram comment earlier this month that “the last thing” he wants to do is “take away Hudson” from his mom.
Since calling it quits from the HGTV personality, Ant has moved on with actress Renée Zellweger. Haack, for her part, is married to Joshua Hall.
While she and the real estate agent, 41, are moving to a “long-term family home” in Newport, Calif., Ant has been settled in his new home since June 2021.
“No matter how bonkers the world gets … the Temple sanctuary switches off and washes off the crazy,” he captioned the first glimpse of his house via Instagram. “I am so grateful to unwind in this space! Look what God did!”
Anstead noted that, “speaking of bonkers,” he has many restoration plans in mind.
