North Clay Heads To First Ever State Final Four

North Clay advanced to their first ever State Final Four after an 8-3 win over Steeleville plating five runs in the first two innings to put their foot on the gas for the 31-6 Cardinals.

Bryton Griffy homered, Logan Fleener tripled as part of his 2-4 day with an RBI and Holden Clifton went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI.  Donnie Zimmerman also drove in a Cardinals run.

Carson Burkett was the winning pitcher going 5.2 allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs.  Holden Clifton worked the final 1.1 innings and was on the mound when Steeleville made the final out and the Cardinals converged on the mound to celebrate their first Super Sectional title.

The Cardinals will get LeRoy in the 11:30 semifinal Friday at Dozier Park in Peoria that will follow the first game of the day with Ottawa Marquette and Brown County.
