Yara Shahidi has made her first appearance on the college graduation stage.

The Black-ish star graduated from Harvard University this week, receiving her Bachelor's degree after five years of balancing her studies with her starring role on Grown-ish and her elegant red carpet appearances. For the big day, the Dior ambassador wore a custom look that honored her time at the prestigious college.

Styled by Jason Bolden, the two-piece crimson-hued suit included a double-breasted jacket with black buttons and a mini-length skirt. She finished the look with a white collared shirt, black open-toed pumps with an ankle strap, and the school's black graduation robes.

The 22-year-old star also shared the pics on her Instagram, captioning the post, 'Yara (noun): a Harvard graduate 👩🏾‍🎓 #ITSOFFICIAL #CLASSOF2022.'

The Grown-ish star also shared some pics of her celebrating with her family during the big day, including an adorable photo of the star's mother Keri Shahidi showing how proud she is of her daughter.

In a Vogue interview, the star shared that she studied in the college's social studies and African American departments, with a focus on 'Black political thought under a neocolonial landscape,' and also completed a 136-page thesis examining the work of Jamaican writer Sylvia Winter.

'It’s surreal to have finally hit this major milestone,' she said. 'I’ve known I wanted to go to college since I was four. By 17, I knew exactly what I wanted to study, so to see that come to fruition is a goal fulfilled.'

Shahidi previously said during a 2018 Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance that she had aspirations to be a 'policy-adjacent' history professor.

'I've wanted to be a history professor for longer than I've wanted to be an actress,' she said. 'And so I used to have the Harvard webpage up, and I'd go through the course catalog. So needless to say, this is something I've been planning for a long time.'
