LeBron James is the biggest legend that the city of Cleveland has seen in more than half a century, being crucial to bringing them an NBA championship as the hometown hero. He had two spells with the Cavs and was instrumental in orchestrating the most successful run the franchise had ever experienced in the modern era of the NBA.

James left to go to Los Angeles and join the Lakers after 2018 when the Cavaliers lost for a second year in a row to the Golden State Warriors and won his 4th championship with the Purple and Gold. But things have gone downhill since, with LeBron and the Lakers failing to even make the play-in tournament this season. All this has led to speculation about a possible departure for LeBron.

And as reported by Sean Deveney, an Eastern Conference executive has suggested that Bron might end up rejoining the Cavs, going as far as to mention a potential trade that could make it happen, even though they did admit it was difficult.

“I think you’d have Cleveland, obviously. It’s hard to see a deal that makes sense, though,” the executive said. “You could start with Jarrett Allen, especially if you think that (Evan) Mobley is your center down the line. And then Collin Sexton as a sign-and-trade piece, but that might have to be a separate deal because of the luxury tax, a third team involved. And a young piece like Isaac Okoro. It is a tough thing to take a young team and give up some pieces for a guy LeBron’s age but it would have to look like that in order to happen, I would think.”

James back on the Cavaliers would be a sight to behold and if he ended up returning to his home city and somehow getting another championship, it would push him really close to GOAT status, which he still currently trails Michael Jordan in. It's a fanciful scenario, but stranger things have happened in the NBA!
