Avengers star Mark Ruffalo has shared footage from his attendance at a pro-choice rally in New York City.

The Hulk actor posted two videos to his Instagram after his daughters asked him to participate in the ‘Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights’ rally.

“My daughters asked me to join them at a Pro-Choice rally and march in NYC,” Ruffalo wrote. “There were hundreds of young women and men marching together to protect a woman’s reproductive rights.”

The rally took place after the US Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade earlier this month; the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights. A subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – also largely maintained the decision.

“As cynical as the right-wing judges on the Supreme Court are, do not lose hope. This is not settled. This is not law. Roe still stands. Don’t let it be taken away,” Ruffalo posted. “We have to mobilize together, organize and hit the streets together to stop America from sliding into the cruel past. I heard a 13-year old say this… ‘you want me and 11-year olds in my generation to be forced to carry a rapist’s or incestuous relative’s baby. It’s not fair. Fuck you! Bans off my body!'”

Ruffalo pleaded with fans to not just “stand by in despair.”

“If you are losing hope, you are not doing enough,” he wrote. “Organize, March and make “Good Trouble” together… Men, that includes us. Many of us have very different lives because women have a right to choose.”

The father of Keen, Bella and Odette urged other men to “get out of the shadows.”

“Make a stand for our women relatives and friends and yes, our daughters,” he wrote. “There is no one that wants to force their child to carry a rapist’s or perverted family member’s baby.”

It isn’t the first time the actor has posted political content this week, calling out the likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz for “joking” about political violence.

“You are creating a culture of murder,” he wrote in the lengthy Instagram post.

“In the wake of this terrible tragedy in Uvalde, TX, it’s time for our senators to take action by passing HR 8 and HR 1446,” he captioned the post. “Enough is enough.”
