DeAngelo Flips Puck in Net After Whistle

Losing badly late in the third period, Canes' defenseman Tony DeAngelo took it upon himself to stir the pot. Following an offside call on a delayed penalty (which would have given Carolina a power play), DeAngelo flipped the puck in the net past Shesterkin.

Obviously, this action drew a crowd. In hockey terms, this is a big no-no. DeAngelo has played villain against his former team for much of the series, but this probably wasn't the smartest play. He effectively became the other team's best penalty killer, since the Canes were about to go up a man due to a tripping call.

Nonetheless, the New York faithful let him have it with some chants of their own. Jacob Trouba and Ryan Reaves both appeared to challenge DeAngelo with good, old-fashioned fisticuffs. DeAngelo did not engage is such festivities.
