The Calgary Flames' playoff run came up short, as they lost at the hands of their provincial rival, the Edmonton Oilers, in five games in their second round series.

Flames General Manager Brad Treliving has plenty of work to do this off-season, including working out contracts for pending UFA Johnny Gaudreau and RFA Matthew Tkachuk.

During his season-ending media avalaibility, Tkachuk told reporters that he is 'very open' to signing a long-term contract to remain a Calgary Flame.

"I would be very open. I've loved it here. I've grown up here. I came here and didn't really know anything about Calgary. Just kind of love the people here ... how great they've made my life here," Tkachuk said.

The 24-year-old is coming off the best year of his career so far, putting up 104 points (42 goals, 62 assists), 68 penalty minutes, and was a plus-57 in 82 regular season games. He went on to add ten points in twelve playoff games.

Calgary currently has $26 million in cap space this summer and with Tkachuk's most recent contract netting him $7 million AAV, there's no doubt that his next deal will be north of $9 million AAV.
