Nassau police say a man who scrawled graffiti on the wall of an East Meadow Urgent Care has been charged with a bias crime.
They say video shows 25-year-old Carlos Aguilar, of East Meadow, spray painting graffiti that included the letters "KKK" on the side of the medical office on Hempstead Turnpike.
Police say the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. a week ago Friday.
Aguilar was arrested and charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime and making graffiti.
Some East Meadow residents said they were disappointed in the news after what seems like an uptick in bias crimes across the United States.
The graffiti has been removed and only a small bit on the stacked stone remains.
Aguliar was released and given a desk appearance ticket.
