Man arrested for catalytic converter theft following chase in Clovis

A man connected to a catalytic converter theft takes Clovis Police on a chase after refusing to stop on Saturday morning.

A patrol officer was in the area of Willow and Herndon Avenues when they recognized 30-year-old David Garcia who was wanted for a prior catalytic converter theft. He refused to stop which prompted the chase.

According to police, Garcia crashed into a traffic light pole on Palm and Herndon Avenues and then took off running but officers were able to arrest him nearby.

Garcia was booked into the Fresno County Jail facing charges of grand theft, evading police, possession of burglary tools, and 5 outstanding warrants.
