Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl set to make £20m Morgan Gibbs-White transfer offer as Wolves face fight to keep him
SOUTHAMPTON manager Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to sign midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves — and will pay up to £20million.
Gibbs-White has headed back to his parent club after the 22-year-old’s dazzling campaign on loan at Sheffield United, with a dozen goals as Blades reached the Championship play-offs.
Now Wolves are facing a fight to keep him as clubs come in for the impressive England U21s star, who looks ready for Premier League football.
Saints head the queue as boss Hasenhuttl looks for fresh legs and ideas after the St Mary’s club’s season fizzled out towards the end.
Gibbs-White fits the bill because he can also improve and possibly attract a big four club if he fulfils his potential in the top flight.
Wolves will look for big money for Gibbs-White and may be open to a sale.

However, reports suggest Wolves would prefer to tie the midfielder down to a new deal.
The Athletic are reporting that the club would like to reward Gibbs-White for his fine loan spell in the Championship.
And head coach Bruno Lage believes he could make an impact in the top flight.
He was surprisingly loaned out by head coach Lage and not recalled last season when many felt he was ready for their team.

Saints are also keen on Manchester United’s James Garner.
But they are one of several clubs who will be after the 21-year-old midfielder if Old Trafford chiefs decide to loan or even sell him.
