Gogglebox's Tom Malone Jr reveals families on the show AREN'T allowed to meet each other as he details 'weird' rule they must follow

Gogglebox's Tom Malone Jr has told that participants on the show are not allowed to meet the other families unless it's for awards or similar events.

He revealed the 'weird' rule during an Instagram Q&A with fans on Friday.

Addressing his 321,000 followers, the reality star, 26, was asked if he stays in touch with anyone from Gogglebox other than his family.

Tom, who appeared for six years on the Channel 4 hit programme alongside his parents, brother and their beloved Rottweilers, explained.

He answered: 'So the weird thing with Gogglebox is, if you're on the show, you're not allowed to meet up with anyone else that is on the show, unless it's like an awards show that you're invited to or something.

'I still speak to a few people on social media and I still speak to all the crew and stuff...And see my mum and dad sometimes...'

MailOnline has reached out to Channel 4 for comment. 

Tom also opened up about being in a interracial relationship in the Q&A.

One supporter asked him if ever gets 'fed up of all the cr*p from the racist people about'.

He replied: 'So I just wanna address this quickly 'cause I get questions like this quite a lot and I know you mean well by it but just to reiterate, the reason that I care about things like this isn't because I'm in an interracial relationship...

'I've cared about this stuff for way longer than I've been in my relationship...I've grown up in a very multi-cultural environment.

'Some of the people that have had the most positive impact on my life have been Black people and other minorities...'

Tom and his girlfriend Bryony Briscoe began dating in June 2020 after meeting through mutual friends, and the following month he shared a sweet tribute to his girlfriend as she graduated from university. 

Tom also touched on lighter topics, sharing that he believes he is '100 million per cent' a better singer than his brother Shaun and that his favourite holiday destination so far has been New York. 

It comes as the Gogglebox alum - who quit the show in February last year - has recently shared a glamorous series of snaps of his much-loved family, including rarely seen older brother Lee on his delayed wedding day celebrations.

He took to Instagram earlier this month to give fans a glimpse of the celebrations.

Lee has notably never appeared on Gogglebox alongside his parents Tom and Julie and siblings Tom Jr, Shaun and Vanessa.

Lee tied the knot with his pregnant wife Sarah in Trafford last year, while Tom told her: 'Welcome to the family!'

Tom penned: 'So after 2 years of postponements my brother and sister-in-law finally got to have their big day! Couldn’t be happier for you both! 

'And of course a Malone wedding was always gonna be eventful. Congratulations to you both and shout out for the best man speech and the moment on the last slide #TheMalones

Tom looked dapper in a grey suit, while his fan favourite mother Julie cut a chic figure in a navy floral dress.

They beamed alongside bride Sarah, who wowed in a tight fishtail dress with a lace bustier.

Meanwhile, Lee looked dashing in a beige blazer and matching tie, which he teamed with grey trousers and a white shirt.

Julie looked every inch the doting mother as she wrote: 'Congratulations to our son Lee and his beautiful wife Sarah !! Finally the wedding they planned ! Xx Thank you xx' 

Tom announced that he was leaving Gogglebox last February after a six-year stint.

Taking to social media, Tom posted: 'So after 6 and a half years it's finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox.

'I've loved every minute and I'm eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show.

'But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it's time to explore them.

He continued: 'I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid.

'PS. Don't worry my family @themalonesgb and @shaunmalone95 will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained every Friday. To the future.' [sic]
