An unoccupied structure near the state line in Baxter County was a total loss after it caught fire late Thursday afternoon. A 101 Gamaliel Fire Protection District spokesperson says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to the spokesperson, the alarm came in around 4:20. Crews arrived to 13 Meeks Lane, northeast of Gamaliel, and found the structure fully involved. Personnel were on the scene for nearly 2 1/2 hours. The owner of the structure is listed to be out-of-state.
The 101 Gamaliel Fire Protection District was assisted on the scene by the Henderson, Northeast Lakeside, Hand Cove and Bakersfield fire departments.
