The Plano Police Department says that it is increasing its enforcement against  speeding in the area of Ben Street and Corri Lane.

The issue came up at the Plano City Council meeting on Monday. Alderman Ben Eaton says that he's hearing multiple complaints about the area.

It's an area that several residents have brought to the attention of the city council on multiple occasions as there are many families with small children living in the neighborhood.

Plano Police Lt. Norm Allison says the city is working on it. He says a mobile speed trailer will be placed in the area. Allison wants to find some other ways to encourage people to comply with speed limits in other areas around town too.

Allison says a lack of stop signs in the area leading in and out of town might by part of the issue on Ben Street.

Allison says that he has heard of a resident in the area approaching a vehicle and to trying to get the driver to slow down which is another reason to address speeding in the neighborhood.
