TRUSSVILLE — The Argo Police Department (APD) was involved in a car chase that ended in Trussville on Friday, May 27, around 9:45 p.m.
According to the Argo Police Chief Glenn Wells, Springville Police Department (SPD) saw a vehicle driving without its headlights or tail lights on the interstate, and notified APD.
“Officers clocked a vehicle doing 102 miles per hour or radar,” Wells said. “It turned out to be the vehicle but he had turned on his headlights by the time he got to them but still didn’t have any tail lights.”
When APD tried to initiate a traffic stop the vehicle fled before stopping at the 143 exit at Deerfoot in Trussville
“He got out of the vehicle and started stripping,” Wells said. “It was acting erratically, and then laid down in the traffic lane of the interstate.”
The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, and attempting to elude.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
