The owners and staff of the new Weekenders Lake Stop convenience store gathered for a ribbon cutting with members of the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce on Friday, May 27, at noon. The store, located at 7235 U.S. Highway 180 West at the intersection of FM 3201, just west of the Hubbard Creek Bridge, has been open for about two weeks.

The store is owned by Wade and Michelle Hawkins and Donnie Jones. Its hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Sundays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

In addition to selling live and frozen bait, the store offers snacks, drinks and beer and other convenience store items. Wade Hawkins said future plans call for installing a kitchen at the store  and serving prepared breakfast and hamburger items. He said they don’t have a definite timeline yet on when they will do that but that it will probably be sometime in the late summer or early fall.
