The highest chance for late day storms in central Alabama will be across the western counties. A few storms could contain strong or damaging winds gusts. Get the latest forecast in the video above.A FEW STRONG STORMS A strong to severe thunderstorm complex will move through Mississippi today and could nudge into west Alabama late in the afternoon. The highest chance to see thunderstorms today will be from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and mainly across our west and southwest counties. There is a marginal risk for a few storms to contain locally damaging wind gusts in the same areas. Rain chances really drop off for today as you go further east. THIS WEEKENDNot much rain is expected over the weekend with just a few storms possible on Saturday and only isolated activity for Sunday. The main concern will be the heat building through the weekend. Humidity levels will increase slightly on Saturday. Highs will climb into the uppers 80s with the heat index in the low 90s. We will see a significant jump in our temperatures and humidity levels on Sunday.
