Local News Briefs: Museum to host Rose Tea June 18

Victorian Mansion Museum to host Rose Tea

The Belmont County Historical Society will host a Rose Tea at 2 p.m. on June 18 at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum in Barnesville. During the tea, the museum will be presented with the 1907 wedding gown of Margaret Schumacher Riesbeck, by her granddaughter Ann Riesbeck DiClemente. The newly acquired gown, plus other wedding gowns currently in the museum’s collection, will be on

display. A style show featuring wedding gowns from the collection

will be part of the program.

The cost is $20. Reservations and pre-payments are required by June 15 and can be made by calling call 740-695-0766 or 740-425-2228. Checks can be

made payable to the Belmont County Historical Society, and can be mailed

to PO Box 434, Barnesville, OH 43713.

Road closures

  • Peters Creek Road (County Road 416) will be closed between Cabin Hill Road (Township Road 11) and the Muskingum County line from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday for culvert replacement.
  • Salem Road (County Road 74) will be closed between New Gottengen Road (County Road 472) and Nighthawk Road (Richland Township Road 59) between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday for culvert replacements. 

Recycling trailer in Cumberland

The South Eastern Ohio Joint Solid Waste Management District recycling trailer is scheduled to be in Cumberland on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Spencer Township Building on Mill Street. 

Shriners to be on Wheeling Avenue

The Kambri Shrine Club will be collecting donations for the Shriners Hospital from 9 a.m, to noon on June 4 along Wheeling Avenue in Cambridge. 

Olivet Nazarene Dean's List

Julie Boney of Caldwell was named to the spring 2022 dean's list at Olivet Nazarene University.
