Season Concludes At CAA Tournament

UNCW falls to Elon, 13-3

ELON, N.C. – UNCW was eliminated from the Colonial Athletic Association tournament by Elon with a 13-3 loss on Friday at Latham Park.

The Seahawks closed out their season with a 31-24 mark. The Phoenix, meanwhile, advanced to play top-seeded Charleston in an elimination game Friday evening.

UNCW went 0-2 in the conference tournament for the first time since the 2013 season and saw its streak of six straight appearances in the championship game ended.

Luke Stephenson homered twice and knocked in three runs for Elon.

Reliever Liam Dabagian (2-2) earned the win and Joe Savino notched his first save of the season with four innings of shutout baseball.

Noah Bridges, Brooks Baldwin and Dillon Lifrieri each had two hits. Bridges scored twice and hit his fourth home run of the season.

Cyle Phelan (2-3) took the loss for the Seahawks.

How it happened: Elon broke open a 5-3 game in the seventh with five runs and taking advantage of three Seahawk throwing errors.
