ALLENDALE, Mich. | The 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships continued on Friday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented in the day's action by
Zach Hancock in the discus,
Michael Gizzi in the 200-meter dash prelims and
Wilson McClain in the 110-meter hurdles prelims.

Hancock highlighted the Chargers day by finishing second overall in the discus with a program-record 57.81 meters, as he becomes an Outdoor First Team All-American in the discus for the second time in his career.

The Madison, Alabama, native now looks ahead to competing in the shot put on Saturday, which begins at 2 p.m. CT.

UAH additionally had a pair of runners qualify for finals on Saturday, including
Michael Gizzi in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.85 and
Wilson McClain in 110-meter hurdles at a clocking of 13.96.

Gizzi will compete tomorrow in the final round for the 100-meter dash at 2:25 p.m. CT followed by the 200-meter spring at 3:40 p.m. CT. He is one of two freshmen at Outdoor Nationals to qualify for the finals in both the 100 and 200 meter races.

McClain's action in the 110-meter hurdles final round is set for 1:45 p.m. CT on Saturday.
