MADISON, Wis. – The World’s Largest Brat Fest is back in full swing for Memorial Day weekend after being downsized and even virtual over the past two years.
At the 40th annual Brat Fest, visitors will have a chance to see over 70 entertainers take the stage and have their fill brats and other food.
“Brat fest has always marked the beginning of summer,” said Brat Fest coordinator Tim Metcalfe. “The stages are up and running. The grills are going, we’ve got lots of volunteers, so everything’s just going fantastic.”
Metcalfe said the event has grown tremendously since it began decades ago with his dad’s store as a customer appreciation day and a way to give back to the community.
In 2022, Brat Fest is still holding on to that legacy of giving with free music, admission and parking; as for food and drinks, those profits go towards supporting about 100 local non-profit organizations.
The event will also have a kids zone with rides and a petting zoo. For the adults, in addition to the live music, there is also ax throwing, a volleyball tournament and more.
The festival will be at the Alliant Energy Center through Sunday.
