MORE FROM FORBESToday's 'Heardle' Answer And Clues For Monday, May 30

Hey there, welcome to the weekend. After such a hellish week, I hope you can find some edification. One way to help with that is with quick bursts of games like Heardle. If you need a hand to get today’s song, I’ve got some clues and the answer for you.

In case this is your first time, here’s how to play Heardle: You will hear the first second of a reasonably well-known song. You’ll then take a guess at the artist and title or skip your turn. If you skip or guess incorrectly, you’ll get to hear a little more of the song. The game continues until the sixth and final guess, at which point you’ll hear 16 seconds of the track.

You might be a Heardle veteran by this point, but if you haven’t played for a few days, here are the songs you may have missed out on:

Now, onto today’s Heardle. If you need some help with it, don’t fret. Here are some clues:

  1. This is listed as a dance-pop/techno-pop song on Wikipedia.
  2. The single was released in 2004.
  3. It reached number nine on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the U.K. singles chart.
  4. This song won the artist the only Grammy Award of their career thus far.

Still striking out? No biggie. Here’s the answer:

Heardle Answer For May 28

Today’s Heardle answer is “Toxic” by Britney Spears.

An easy first guess for me today. Those strings are instantly recognizable to most folks of a certain age.

This song is an absolute banger. It’s maybe the best work of Spears’ career as one of those songs that soundtracked the lives of a generation. It’s all slick beats and breathy vocals with a cutting message at its core. I have fond memories of being in a club where the DJ had written on the request sheet in huge letters “NO TOXIC.” He still played it anyway. Good times.
