After spending multiple years as the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots, Josh McDaniels has a second chance at being a head coach in the NFL. Many have high expectations for McDaniels, especially considering he's been under Bill Belichick's wing for quite some time. The Las Vegas Raiders' new head coach opens up about making his own path.

According to Levi Edwards, McDaniels doesn't want to be seen as the next Bill Belichick. Instead, the Raiders head coach has made steps to allow his team to generate its own culture that is different from the “Patriot Way.” It'll be interesting how Josh McDaniels coaches Las Vegas, as he has been gifted a second chance.

However, he emphasizes the differences he's making with his approach to coaching the Raiders. “Josh McDaniels is not actively attempting to bring ‘The Patriot Way' to the desert. While in the early process of OTAs, he's letting his players and staff create their own culture,” per Levi Edwards.

Additionally, the Raiders coach is enjoying what he's seeing from his players so far through OTAs. According to Levi Edwards, McDaniels claims, “The effort that they put in, the time that they put in, how much they demand of themselves – which I think you have to do before you can start pushing other people – it just speaks for itself.”

We'll see how this upcoming season plays out. The Raiders made a ton of moves to remain relevant in a stacked AFC West. Keep an eye on this franchise, as Las Vegas could be a dangerous team in the 2022 season.
