Robert “Bob” Lee Tennyson, 62, of Piopolis, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his home.
Bob was born August 7, 1959 in Mt. Vernon, IL the son of Homer & Rosalie Tennyson. On June 29, 1991 Bob married Lisa Marie (Milner) Tennyson, who survives.
Bob worked as a tire builder for Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon, IL and retired after 35 years of service. Bob graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1977. Back in the day, Bob was a small farmer and raised feeder pigs. He kept his love of farming and raising pigs long after he quit those operations.
Bob enjoyed serving the Lord through missions and service projects. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton, IL. He was a part of many teams which built wheelchair ramps, replaced roofs, and other projects. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his kids and working with his hands. All who knew him experienced his calm demeanor, and his genuine and consistent nature. He was a man of few words and quiet strength.
Bob is survived by his wife Lisa Marie Tennyson, 5 children: April Marie Tennyson, Alec Lee Tennyson, Austen Michael Tennyson, Alijah Thomas Tennyson, and Anthony Tyler Tennyson; his mother Rosalie Anne Tennyson, a brother David Wayne Tennyson, 3 sisters: Georgia Ann Pearcy, Carolyn Marie Lynn, and Susan Diane Janz; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father Homer Lee Tennyson, his paternal grandparents Oscar & Flossie Tennyson, and his maternal grandparents Albert and Victoria Wellen.
Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Lee Tennyson will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastors Ben Jones and Ryan Casey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Friday, May 27 at Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Student Ministry or to Lake Salleteeska Camp, and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home.
