The Trussville Police Department arrested a man from New Jersey after discovering 74.1 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop early Friday morning.
At approximately 1:09 a.m., the Trussville Police Department’s Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a traffic violation on Chalkville Mountain Road. During the stop the odor of marijuana was detected and the driver admitted to recently smoking inside the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and 74.1 pounds of marijuana was discovered.
The driver, identified as Izura Lonon-Rosa of Ashbury Park, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Marijuana with a bond of $1,500,000 and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a bond of $6,000. Lonon-Rosa will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he is eligible to make bond.
