TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville Police Department (TPD) traffic stop led to the discovery of 74.1 pounds of marijuana on Friday, May 27, at approximately 1:09 a.m.
According to the TPD, Izura Lonon-Rosa of Ashbury Park, New Jersey, was arrested during a traffic stop on Chalkville Mountain Road in Trussville.
“During the stop, the odor of marijuana was detected, and the driver admitted to recently smoking marijuana inside the vehicle,” Lieutenant Clint Riner said. “A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, 74.1 pounds of marijuana was discovered.”
Lonon-Rosa is charged with trafficking marijuana with a bond of $1,500,000 and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $6,000. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he is eligible to make bond.
