Topeka homeless camp on fire extinguished by TFD

TOPEKA (KSNT) – There’s been a fire at homeless camp in North Topeka according to Shawnee County Emergency Dispatch.

A call came to dispatch around 6:30 p.m. that a homeless camp located near the north side of the Kansas Avenue bridge was on fire. Dispatch confirmed that the Topeka Fire Department responded to the situation.

The Topeka Police Department’s Watch Commander confirmed the address of the fire to be 300 NE Kansas. He said that no injuries have been reported and that the scene was officially cleared at 6:49 p.m. by the Topeka Fire Department.
