(KNSI) – A man has been arrested for a fatal shooting in south St. Cloud. Police were called around 7:44 p.m. on Tuesday to the 1200 block of 10th Avenue South on a report of gunshots.

Police say 52-year-old Paul Erving Coleman Sr. was seen with what appeared to be a handgun on the home’s motion-activated camera at 7:23 p.m.

According to the criminal complaint, the camera activated again at 7:38 p.m. showing two men, one of them identified as Coleman, near a detached garage facing the entry where the victim was found. The complaint says Coleman and the other man were seen running toward a vehicle with another person in the driver’s seat. As Coleman got in the vehicle, he allegedly fired at least one round toward the home as the vehicle drove away.

Investigators say a woman and her son found the victim and called the police. The victim was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital, where he died.

She told investigators the man with Coleman had argued with the victim several times in the days leading up to the shooting. The criminal complaint alleges the arguments were over a debt for contraband.

Coleman was arrested Thursday in St. Cloud. He has denied involvement in the shooting. Coleman has been charged with second-degree aiding and abetting murder without intent while committing a felony.

The name of the victim hasn’t been released by law enforcement.
