After taking Game 1 on Thursday evening at ACU in Abilene, the Stephenville Yellow Jackets (21-7, 9-3) will face the Snyder Tigers (23-10, 10-5) in Game 2 at 1 p.m. in Abilene’s Hardin-Simmons baseball stadium on Saturday, May 28, with Game 3 to follow, if needed.

Game 1 started slow with no runs scored on either side until the third inning when the Jackets were able to break the ice. Three Stephenville batters were hit with the ball and four more got hits to reach base and SHS was able to score four runs. Despite Snyder’s two answering runs kept the game close for a bit, but the Jackets were able to pull away and finish with a final score of 6-2. Stephenville Yellow Jacket Nate Barry had two recorded hits and three RBI’s in Game 1.

The Jackets will have to win Game 2 or Game 3 to claim the Regional Semifinal title and move on to the Regional Finals matchup against the winner of Argyle-Canyon.
