CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Caitlyn Knowles has had an eventful spring at Clarksville High School. While many seniors spent their time enjoying beaches and preparing for graduation, Caitlyn, 17,  disappeared for a week to be part of NBC’s newest competition show, “Dancing with Myself.”

“I’ve been dancing since I was like, 4, and I got a call from some of the producers a while back,” Caitlyn told Clarksville Now. “I believe they saw my TikTok because I had one (video) that had a pretty good amount of views.”

Caitlyn has over 160,000 followers on TikTok. She posts videos of herself doing original dances as well as trying the latest moves.

“Dancing with Myself” is inspired by social media dance trends. Each episode features everyday people competing in dance challenges. Before each person attempts, the dances are showcased by the show’s celebrity creators, which include Shakira, Nick Jonas and Liza Koshy.

The show consists of six rounds, with solo performances, head-to-head freestyle battles, choreographed dances and collaborations.

This isn’t Caitlyn’s first time on screen. She was a dancer in a Halestorm music video.

“My favorite type of dancing is like a fusion, probably a mix of contemporary and hip hop, so I normally call it ‘contempop,'” Caitlyn said with a laugh.

Caitlyn told Clarksville Now her biggest support system has been her mother. “She was just always by my side,” she said.

She plans to go to Belmont in the fall to major in business with entrepreneurship and film.

“I mainly decided on film after this experience just because I really liked the environment we were in,” Caitlyn said. “I already wanted to do something within the dance industry, and when I got there and we went through the entire film process, just being there and filming each shot and retaping, it was really cool.”

You can see Caitlyn on “Dancing With Myself” on Tuesday, May 31, at 9 p.m. Central on NBC, WSMV-Channel 4 in Nashville.
