John Young Middle School placed on brief lockdown for suspicious people

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- John Young Middle School was on lockdown for a few minutes Friday after school administrators were notified of two suspicious people in the area, according to a letter from School City of Mishawaka Superintendent Wayne Barker.

Officials called 9-1-1 to report the people at 3:27 p.m.

Mishawaka Police apprehended the subjects and after searching them, determined there was no threat to students or staff.

The lockdown was lifted at 3:34 p.m. and students were released.
