Yankees, Rays lineups Friday | Matt Carpenter in; DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Hicks still out (5/27/22)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays continue their four-game, Memorial Day weekend series on Friday night at Tropicana Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Amazon Prime will televise the game.

Yankees newcomer Matt Carpenter is in the lineup for the second time in two nights at DH. He was signed as a free agent on Thursday and was 0-for-2 with two runs scored that night in his Yankees debut, a 7-2 series-opening win over Tampa Bay.

Also, outfielder Aaron Hicks and DJ LeMahieu still are out with injuries that are believed to be minor.

The pitching matchup is Yankees right-hander Jameson Taillon (4-1, 2.95) versus Rays left-hander Jeffrey Springs (2-1, 1.32).
