Restrictions relaxed to move mobile housing to tornado victims

A state order was extended to suspend some restrictions on carriers moving mobile housing to western Kentucky tornado victims.

The order means commercial drivers can drive beyond maximum limits and bypass weigh stations when transporting to affected areas.

It also requires drivers to keep a copy of the order in their truck, and to follow safety requirements while working under the order.

The order was set to expire on June 1st, but is now in effect until August 1st.

Jim Gray, Kentucky's Transportation Cabinet Secretary, announced the extension on Thursday.
