Summer events at ZooMontana

Montana’s only zoo does not only specializes in animals: ZooMontana also hosts lots of events over the summer. Come make a trip out and see all the exciting events at Zoomontana this summer! 

The month of June starts off strong with St. Vincent Healthcare’s seventh annual Kids Fun day on Saturday, June 11. The event celebrates St. Vincent Healthcare’s promise of providing high-quality pediatric care for families. Admission is free for ZooMontana members, NICU graduates, and St. Vincent Health caregivers. 

The zoo had its first Medieval Marketplace last Saturday and happen every third Sunday of the month at 10 am. The event is a miniature Rennaisance fair with merchants, vendors, and performers. ZooMontana and the Montana Renaissance Festival sponsor the Medieval Marketplace, with the next happening on June 18. The following dates are July 16, August 20, and September 17.

Another exciting event is Movies Under the Stars, hosted by the Billings Kiwanis organization on July 8, August 19, and July 22, weather permitting. The event has free admission with concessions available. Proceeds from the concessions go towards local Billings Charities. Movies Under the Stars will start at around 7:30. The Pub Station is also presenting several concerts at ZooMontana this summer. On July 15, the Texas band, Midland, will be performing at the zoo and will happen regardless of weather conditions. Personal photography is not allowed at the event, and there will be no re-entry.

Other music events at the zoo are As I Lay Dying on July 10, The Marshall Tucker Band on July 13, and Atmosphere on August 12. August Burns Red performs on August 13 as part of their Through the Thorns tour. The last music event of the summer is on August 31, with a performance by Shakey Graves.

The popular Ales for Trails event happens on September 9, where guests can enjoy over 40 brews made locally and regionally. There is also a wine selection and non-alcoholic beverage selection as well.  Live entertainment also happens at the event. The money raised from the event goes towards the Billings Trail System.

And don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to explore the zoo and see all the magnificent animals. ZooMontana just switched to its summer hours and is open every day from 10 am – 5 pm, with the last admission available at 4 pm. Don’t miss out on any of the fun happening at ZooMontana all summer!
