Netflix has unveiled a first trailer for its new reality series Snowflake Mountain, which puts a group of "clueless kidults" into a survival retreat.

The new show, which was announced last year as part of a roster of new reality shows, is set to drop later next month.

Netflix has described it as "a funny, warm-hearted reality show which takes a bunch of clueless kidults who aren't yet living to their full potential and puts them through their paces at a survival retreat".

Going by the first look, the participants find the course a lot harder than expected, one calling it "the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life".

There are also some pretty extreme confessions, another person revealing they had done something rather gross in a bucket, with emotions aplenty flowing throughout.

Snowflake Mountain was filmed in the Lake District with a global cast, who are given no amenities, with no parents or Wi-Fi either. The aim of the show is to help kickstart the participants into standing on their own two feet, with a cash prize at the end.

Alongside the series, Netflix previously confirmed new reality shows including Dance Monsters and Dated and Related.

"Over our past couple of years, we have been thrilled by the ideas pitched to us from production companies in the UK – ideas that are fresh, thought-provoking and playful, a perfect combination for our unscripted slate," Netflix's UK unscripted content leads Daisy Lilley and Ben Kelly said.

"We look for series that have a unique take on a familiar concept and put innovative twists on shows that you wouldn't find anywhere else, so that we can deliver something truly original."

Snowflake Mountain will stream on Netflix from June 22.
