This series, starring Aidan Turner as Leonardo da Vinci, commenced last Saturday on the Drama Channel.

The first two episodes were very enjoyable.

Episodes 3 and 4 tomorrow starting at 9pm.

I thought it was really good. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Enthralling TV series. Really enjoyed it when I bingewatched it earlier this year.
    The actors were really convincing.
I wouldn’t mind a second series, if it were ever to be made, but I suppose it was more of a limited series-type of show.

Also, it sort of reminded me about “Desperate Romantics” with perfect painting reconstructions like in “Leonardo”. And Aidan Turner also starred as Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

I think what helps in what I have seen so far is that the majority of the actors are unknown to me.

As for 'Desperate Romantics' it was in that series I developed my crush on Zoe Tapper who was in the recent 'Grace' series.

Were we watching the same thing? Even Aiden Turner couldn't persuade me. I turned off after half an hour...the script was appalling...

The script was predominantly written by Steve Thompson whose credits include 'Vienna Blood', 'Deep State', 'Jericho', and 'Sherlock'.

The overall rating of 40 reviews on Amazon UK is 4+ stars.

Episodes3 , and 4, maintained the high standard of the series with James D'Arcy impressive as the ruthless Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan.

Like 'The Terror: Infamy', 'Leonardo' appears to be passing under most people's radar.

You can watch the whole series on Prime if you have it. It’s been there for ages.

Watched the first episode and found it extremely slow, if episode 2 is the same I will delete 3 and 4

Yes, it was a Amazon Prime show. I never watched it, just did not appeal to me.

According to its Wiki page a second season was announced about the time that the first one was released although no sign of it yet.

I’m enjoying it a lot, always meant to watch it on Amazon but never got round to it. Of course it takes huge liberty with history, not least because no one is even sure whether Caterina da Cremona ever existed, never mind being his friend/great love and he was never put on trial for murder though the sodomy charge and its dismissal in episode 2 were real.

I think also real are the references up to episode 4 of the various commissions particularly that of the equestrian statue for the Duke of Milan.

The attribution for the design of the lifting mechanism for the golden globe for The Duomo is open to question.

Oh yes, I didn’t mean to imply that everything else was made up, just that there are a fair few things that aren’t accurate and have been rejigged to make the story more interesting. For example, there’s no evidence that he and his father were at odds and in fact appear to have been close. And in the latest episode, the young Duke of Milan was likely murdered and probably by his uncle but he was in his mid twenties at the time.
