Melissa Submerges Signature Silhouettes Into the Supernatural World of ‘Stranger Things’
The footwear fashion brand partnered with the Netflix sci-fi show for a thematic capsule collection.
With their cult-classic jelly sandals and iconic footwear collaborations, Brazilian brand Melissa has maintained cultural relevance for over 40 years. Since 1979, the accessory and shoe brand has reimagined their signature styles countless times by introducing new eye-catching colorways and co-branded capsule collections to their loyal consumers. In their latest effort to revamp timeless styles, Melissa has designed a limited edition line of accessories and footwear in collaboration with the Netflix hit series, Stranger Things.
Releasing in celebration of the show’s fourth season debut, the capsule collection features the brand’s eternally-classic silhouette, the Melissa Possession Sandal, the summer-ready Melissa Beach Slide, as well as tote bags that all pull inspiration from Stranger Things.
Arriving in both gradient hues and solid shades, the shoe styles are adorned with playful prints reminiscent of the series’ iconic motifs like the illuminated title logo, Demogorgons and protagonist Eleven’s beloved waffles.
The Possession Sandal is decorated with four new vibrant colorways including a bright pink and orange gradient, bold black with glow in the dark paint splashes and crisp white and yellow hues. For further footwear options, the exclusively-designed Beach Slide, made of signature Melflex technology, transforms from a jet black to red and orange gradient when in direct contact with the sun.
Rounding out the supernatural-spirited collection, the label further fuses its brand aesthetic with elements of the fan-favorite show with four tote bags, in varying shades, embellished with signature Stranger Things motifs. This drop marks the first of Melissa x Stranger Things offerings as a second reiteration of the collection, including themed keyrings, will be released in July.
