Suspected bosque arsonist to stay behind bars until trial

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A suspected bosque arsonist with a lengthy criminal history will remain behind bars until trial but whether she’s competent to stand trial is already being questioned. Cristina Noble was arrested last week and accused of intentionally setting a dozen fires in the bosque near Second Street and Woodward and then putting up a fight when an officer tried to arrest her.

Noble has a history of property damage and other fire-related crimes dating back to 2008. Prosecutors asked Judge Lucy Solimon to keep Noble locked up saying she is too dangerous to be released.

Judge Solimon agreed, “This isn’t the defendant’s first charge of allegedly setting fire and it’s not the first charge for allegedly assaulting or battering someone. I do note most of her charges in NM have been dismissed due to incompetency but she does have prior convictions of misdemeanor and felony.”
