AUGUSTA — After a solid high school basketball career, the basketball journey for Ramsey Fry, a Southeastern senior, is not over. On Thursday, May 26, Fry made it official at the high school student lounge by signing his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at John Wood Community College in Quincy.

Fry received numerous accolades for his prowess on the court, but also for his seeming humility of his character. Superintendent Todd Fox, in particular, commented on that aspect of Fry’s life.

Fox said that, in his office, Fry expressed reservations about being good enough to play college basketball. “At first, I thought he was just trying to be humble, when he was actually being vulnerable,” Fox recalled.

Fry’s basketball coach, Brett Ufkes, also participated in the program, citing Fry’s numerous accomplishments on the court. Fry had amassed 631 points, 220 rebounds, 136 assists, 107 steals, and 45 blocks.

Ufkes called Fry an “Elite Ball handler” in his ability to get the job done.

Southeastern Athletic Director Cyle Rigg, who served as program emcee, also offered his best wishes for Fry on becoming a Trailblazer.
