SUPPLY DRIVE – Texas Roadhouse, 2033 W. State St. in Alliance, plans a school supply drive and free family carnival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in its parking lot. The drive will be held for New Hope Church. The event will feature games, inflatables, prizes, concessions and more. Guests are encouraged to bring at least two new school supplies to donate to New Hope Church.

PSA SCREENING – Columbiana County Health District plans a prostate-specific antigen screening June 9 at its office at 7360 State Route 45 in Lisbon. There will be no charge for residents to be screened. Those attending who live outside of the General Health District (Salem and East Liverpool) or outside of Columbiana County will be charged $25, which must be paid in cash, for the PSA screening service. American Cancer Society recommends annual PSA screening for men ages 50 and older. Because African-American men have a higher risk of prostate cancer, it is recommended they begin having the screenings at age 45. Men who have a family history for prostate cancer also should begin the screenings at age 45. To schedule an appointment for our PSA clinic please call 330-424-0272.

PLANNING COMMISSION – City of Alliance Planning Commission plans a public hearing at 4:30 p.m. June 15 at Alliance Area Senior Center, 602 W. Vine St., to discuss proposed amendments to the zoning code of the City of Alliance. The hearing will be part of a meeting to discuss site plan reviews from SHMA’s Alliance Senior Tower; NiSource/Columbia Gas site; and a warehouse and shop at 1975 McCrea St. Also to be discussed is a waiver of site plans for WellSpring Bible Church.
