With the highly anticipated fourth installment of "Stranger Things" finally here, there is a fresh batch of new characters joining the ever-growing cast of the popular sci-fi drama. In addition to the regular cast members, the viewers will be treated to a handful of intriguing additions to progress the story. Dubbed the "scariest and the darkest" season by the lead actors, the upcoming penultimate season of the series leans heavily toward the twisting supernatural aspect of the story by cranking up the amount of horror.

One new character is Victor Creel, one of the most spine-chilling new characters. Victor appears in "Stranger Things" as both his younger self and his present-day self, whom has had his eyes sewn shut, which fans saw in the full "Stranger Things" trailer released on April 12. So who is this mysterious person? Continue reading to find everything we know about Victor Creel thus far, including the iconic veteran actor who's stepped into the role.

Who Is Victor Creel in "Stranger Things" Season 4?

Netflix announced that the new character Victor Creel would be a part of "Stranger Things" season four on Nov 20, 2020. The tweet described Victor as a "disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s." In a follow-up tweet, the streamer gave viewers a window into Victor's storyline. The short video comprises a series of old newspaper clippings detailing the Creel House murders. The opening headline, likely centered on Victor, a Hawkins resident, reads that a "vengeful demon killed family," with the subheading detailing the scope of the said killing's aftermath. "The murder that shocked a small community," it reads. Another clipping ponders whether Victor is a "killer or tragic victim of a vengeful spirit." Then a quote appears on screen, linking the alleged spirit possession with the crime: "I thought I was dying…so I was flooded with relief…but there was a sense of terrible grief, too."

"Stranger Things" released the first look at Victor on Sep. 25, 2021. The teaser, titled "Creel House," gave us a window into a younger version of the character along with his family in the '50s. What initially appears as a happy family of four moving into the Creel house soon finds themselves amid a series of inexplicable supernatural occurrences. House lights begin flickering as the young daughter discovers a dead pet in the front yard, and then we cut to two kids lying lifeless on the floor with their father standing near them. We are then shown a brief glimpse of the present-day when Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and the kids enter the same now-uninhabited house. As they stealthily move inside the creepy house, Steve asks, "Would you maybe clarify what sort of clues we're supposed to be looking for here?" The grandfather clock that got a fair share of screen time in the trailer cracks on its own while ominously ticking away towards the last shot.
