Jensen wins Big Nine Title, Albert Lea Girl’s Golf takes 2nd

(By Shawn Riebe Head Coach) The AL girls golf team played their final big9 conference tournament at North Links golf course in Mankato today. The Tigers took 2nd place today and 2nd place overall in the big9 this season. The Tigers shot a season low 340 today. Leading for the Tigers AND winning the big9 tourney today was Alyssa Jensen with a 74!! Whitney Mullenbach, followed with a 79, Ashlyn Berven 93, and Jessica Vogt 94.
Alyssa played great today and shot her career low and to be able to win that tournament is a big deal. Whitney also won a medal today for individuals finishing in 4th place.
Alyssa and Whitney also earned All-conference honors today!
This was a great round for us today. The girls were happy with the way they played. Northfield was just too tough shooting a 326. We knew we were going to have to play a great round to win it, and we played our season low. Not much more we ask from these girls. They went after it today. I am proud of how they performed. We now have a short turn around and head to sections on Tuesday to try to continue our post-season play on Thursday and maybe onto state for some players.
